This ceramic wall tile features my original pencil drawing of a dog looking out a window, taking in the wide world beyond the curtains. The drawing is applied directly to the porcelain surface, then framed with a hand‑applied aqua moss glaze, a two‑toned blend of soft aqua and earthy green that gives the piece a natural, layered depth.
Each tile is individually made, so the drawing, glaze, and surface textures all have their own personality. The tile naturally fires into a subtle concave shape, giving the piece a sculptural presence.
These tiles can be displayed on a table or shelf, or hung on a wall. At roughly 6" square and about 1" deep, they bring a small but powerful moment of art into any room.
Artist’s note: I accidentally gave two completely different tiles the same title, “Wide World,” when I wrote it into the clay before firing. Clay remembers everything, so now they both get to keep the name. They’re siblings with the same name — it’s fine. This keeps the charm, keeps the wink, and keeps the honesty — without making you sound careless. It reads as human, funny, and very “Studio e.” If you want, I can tailor a slightly different version for each of the two Wide Worlds so they each get their own personality.
