This ceramic wall tile features my original pencil drawing of a dog sitting upright, taking in the world with quiet curiosity. The drawing is applied directly to the porcelain surface, then framed with a hand‑applied ochre glaze that brings warmth and an earthy glow to the piece.
Each tile is individually made, so the drawing, glaze, and surface textures all have their own personality. The tile naturally fires into a subtle concave shape, giving the piece a sculptural presence.
These tiles can be displayed on a table or shelf, or hung on a wall. At roughly 6" square and about 1" deep, they bring a small but powerful moment of art into any room.
Artist’s note: I accidentally gave two completely different tiles the same title, “Wide World,” when I wrote it into the clay before firing. Clay remembers everything, so now they both get to keep the name. They’re siblings with the same name — it’s fine. This keeps the charm, keeps the wink, and keeps the honesty — without making you sound careless. It reads as human, funny, and very “Studio e.” If you want, I can tailor a slightly different version for each of the two Wide Worlds so they each get their own personality.
